A 56-year-old farmer who allegedly stabbed his wife and later attempted to take his own life passed away at the Sigatoka Hospital yesterday.
The woman remains admitted in the Sigatoka Hospital.
Police say the incident took place in a settlement in Sigatoka on Friday.
It is alleged the suspect fled the scene after stabbing his wife on her left hand following a heated argument.
According to Police the suspect was later found lying motionless a few meters away from the scene of the incident after attempting to take his life.
A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
