1, 811 passengers were fined $150 by the Land Transport Authority during their e‑ticketing operations from June 2018 to last month.
LTA conducted 108,946 bus checks as part of the operation.
Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Simpson says the revenue checks on buses resulted in the issuance of 3,246 traffic infringement notices of which passengers received the highest number.
He says there were 1,202 cases where bus drivers were fined $150.
233 traffic infringement notices were issued for the misuse of subsidised cards.
Simpson says the rate of driver fraud is alarming and they encourage bus operators to deal effectively with their employees that are taking money out of the cash box and denying it to their employers.
He stresses that resolute action by bus operators will further enhance the revenue yield and this is wholly within the direct control of the bus operators.
Simpson says the LTA will share with bus operators the details of traffic infringement notices issued to their employees if requested.
He says so far no requests have been forthcoming which is disappointing.
