Former Flying Fijians forward, Vereniki Sauturaga says that time management is one of the key principles in developing your business further.
Sauturaga who received the award for the Banana Farmer of the Year at the Agriculture Show in Valelevu says he chose to get into banana farming because banana plants will keep on producing fruits every month, and you do not need to replant banana suckers like cassava or dalo.
He says last year he earned a lot from his 2.6 hectares of banana plantation where he collected 116 crates of bananas and sold it at $30 a crate.
He adds this year he has planted 2,110 banana suckers and he hopes to get another good sum of money from the expansion of his farm and business.
The Former Flying Fijians prop says he is aiming to become a commercial banana farmer and believes that this is possible with good record keeping.
He is urging youths who have left school to take up farming as a profession, because there is a lot money when you use a piece of land wisely.
