The Fijian Government has signaled its very strong support for The Fiji National University and expressed a clear expectation for it to be transformed into a premier institution.
The Minister for Education Rosy Akbar highlighted this during the visitation of Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne to the Fiji National University, Nasinu Campus.
Akbar says it makes every Fijian proud of their University, and one that is closely linked into Fiji’s own very ambitious development plans and strategies.
She adds that Australia and Fiji enjoy a close and long relationship, reinforced at the beginning of 2019 by the signing of the new Vuvale Partnership by our respective Prime Ministers.
Also present at the event were the Attorney‑General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum and the Permanent Secretary for Education Alison Burchell.
