Fiji Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee says the teams fitness level against the tier one nations is not there yet.

McKee says they are progressing well and they have time from now to the start of the Rugby World Cup to improve on their fitness.

McKee feels it is very beneficial for them to find out the areas to improve on now rather than at the World Cup.

Fiji will be aiming aim to win its fifth successive Pacific Nations Cup.

The PNC fixtures will be played in a cross pool format with each team playing 3 games. According to the format, Fiji has games against Japan, Canada and Samoa. The winner of the tournament will be the team who records the maximum number of competition points across the tournament schedule.

Fiji is in pool A with USA and Tonga and is currently in last place with zero points.

USA leads pool A with 5 points.

Japan leads pool B with 5 points which also has Samoa and Canada.

The national side will play Canada at 5.15pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary of the match on Viti FM.
