The founder of the Walk On Walk Strong Foundation Sina Kami has urged the general public to come out and support their foundation as they are finding it very difficult to cater for all the cancer affected kids in the country.
Speaking at the launch of the Child Cancer Awareness Month and opening of the AusAid sponsored outdoor space at the WOWS Kids Resource Centre today, Kami says that whatever support they can receive from the public will help make a difference to the lives of children affected by cancer.
The new AusAid outdoor space is worth $9000.
The Walk On Walk Strong Foundation is currently supporting 67 children all over Fiji which includes 3 children who have been already sent for overseas treatment this year.
Kami says they give $5000 each to the patients who are going for overseas treatment which caters for their medicine and airfare.
Other support includes medication, transportation from home to hospital and a weekly shopping voucher of $50 and a phone voucher of $10 to the family of the affected.
Meanwhile the Walk On Walk Strong Foundation will have their Super Hero Run at My Suva Park at 6.30am this Saturday and people are being urged to come in Super Hero costumes and help raise funds for the children affected.
The entry for the walk is $1 per person.
The bank account number for the foundation is 10416097 in BSP Bank under the name of WOWS Kids Fiji and people are being urged to donate for a good cause.
