The Search and Rescue responders who are searching for the missing helicopter and its remaining two occupants are now using boats with sonar nearing the focused search area for further investigation.
The Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre says an aircraft has been tasked to investigate a beacon activation.
The Search and Rescue responders include Police, RFMF, Volunteer Divers from nearby resorts and villagers.
The missing helicopter was on a medical evacuation mission from Naitauba in Lau and was returning to Labasa with 3 people onboard.
