Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has urged anaesthetists to continue their efforts in providing the best medical services not only within the confines of the hospital but extend into the realms of public health.
Speaking at the 30th Pacific Society Of Anaesthetists meeting, Waqainabete says safety is the most important aspect in the delivery of quality health care because all the advances and improvements in medical training and technology focus entirely on safety and a better outcome which is cost‑effective.

Dr. Waqainabete added that the health systems in the pacific region have been tested over the years and there was a major need to promote safe anaesthesia in order to achieve safer surgeries.
He also says that they can only respond well to disasters if they are well prepared and this conference will be an excellent platform to gain knowledge and skills to help them to be resilient and respond better in the future.
