A refrigerator, styrofoam takeaway containers, fuel gallons, plastic bottles, alcohol bottles, slippers, and plastic bags were some of the items collected by the Telecom Fiji staff around Fiji this morning during their Plastic-Free campaign.
This was revealed by Telecom Fiji CEO Charles Goundar as the team completed their clean up campaigns in Suva, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa.
Goundar says it was surprising how people are carelessly throwing away household items when they can be properly disposed.
He adds this is the start of their plastic free campaign and they are looking at doing this on a regular basis.
Goundar revealed that as part of their aim of being 100 percent plastic-free in terms of waste, the company has instituted a ban on all single use plastic bottle within the organisation adding all staff have been provided with aluminum water bottles to use.
The theme for this campaign is Yes, You Matter.
