High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe will sum up the rape trial of 26‑year‑old Manasa Ratuloaloa today who is alleged to have raped, sexually assaulted and abducted a 13‑year‑old girl last year.

While making her closing submission, State lawyer Sheenal Swastika told the three assessors that the victim’s grandmother told the court that the girl looked lost when she was brought home by police officers on the day she was allegedly raped.

She says the victim also highlighted while giving evidence that Ratuloaloa had punched the girl’s thighs when she was resisting.

Meanwhile, Ratuloaloa’s lawyer, Krishneel Chang told the court that there is a possibility that the evidence given by the victim maybe exaggerated or fabricated.

Ratuloaloa allegedly abducted, raped and sexually assaulted the 13‑year‑old girl in Nausori on 25th June last year.

He allegedly took the girl without her grandmother’s knowledge.
