A man in his 60s died after he was allegedly hit by a car driven by a 47-year-old man from Sabeto, Nadi.
The alleged incident occurred yesterday morning along the Queens Road at Aerotown in Nadi.
The victim is alleged to have suddenly crossed the road when the incident occurred.
He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital and passed away later in the afternoon.
The driver remains in custody as investigations continue.
The road death toll currently stands at 47 compared to 60 for the same period last year.
