Some women and children of Lomati village in Kadavu have been  evacuated to the villages in Yawe because of the tremors that are still being felt in parts of Kadavu.

This has been confirmed by Lomati Village Headman, Pauliasi Tamani who says that the landslides from Mount Washington during the 5.3 magnitude earthquake wiped out some of their plantations.

Tamani says luckily the earthquake occurred on Sunday and no one was in the plantation.

He says they are glad to hear that the National Disaster Management Office will be arriving tomorrow to conduct their assessments.
