The former head teacher of a primary school in Naitasiri has been jailed for 18 years for sexually assaulting six students during school hours in the school compound in 2017.
The 43-year-old has been convicted of one count of rape, one count of sexual assault, three counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecently annoying any person
The six girls who all testified in court were all students of the primary school and were between 12 to 14 years of age.
It was heard in court that the Victim Impact Statement Reports recorded that the girls have been emotionally and psychologically traumatised.
High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza said the man abused his authority by even threatening the girls that they will be expelled from school if they exposed the incident.
A non-parole period of 15 years has been set.
