The villagers of Waibalavu in Naitasiri will no longer have to use kerosene lamps and candles as Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama commissioned the rural electrification project in Waibalavu village.

The fully-funded project cost government $338,000 and 55 households will benefit from this investment.

While speaking at the event, Bainimarama told the villagers with electricity, their quality of life is immediately uplifted, the people are immediately safer and their economic potential is immediately unleashed.

He says being in Waibalavu, he can already see that the meaning of this project is lost on no one: the gratitude in the people's eyes says it all.
