Minister for Infrastructure, Jone Usamate says the government has not given Grace Road any piece of land in Navua.

Responding to SODELPA MP, Salote Radrodro’s statement that the government gave the land to Grace Road in Navua, Usamate says this is a lie as the land was in fact leased out by the Fiji National University.

He says it is important for everyone to come to Parliament with facts and not false accusations.

Radrodro then raised a point of order that they have a report of the committee that can verify her claims.

Radrodro says as a member of the committee she is asking Usamate to crosscheck with the former Minister for Agriculture and the Minister for Education.

Usamate responded to SODELPA MP Viliame Gavoka’s claim that this government has done nothing for the itaukei people, saying that the $10 million for land development and the TLTB grants for small businesses is proof that this is not true.

He also says that Fiji had the worst cases of poor governance in the country during SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka’s reign which includes the loss of the National Bank of Fiji and failed public enterprises.

Usamate says Sitiveni Rabuka needs to do the right thing and resign.
