Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says he has always been proud to lead a government that does not make all of its decisions sitting in offices in Suva, but who goes out to communities, listens and works with the people to find solutions.

He made this comment while opening the $95,000 Korovou Crematorium.

Bainimarama says they cannot fund and develop everything the nation needs overnight.

He says by opening this newly rebuilt crematorium, he is proud to help bring the community the level of comfort and convenience every family needs to lay their dearly departed to rest with dignity.

The Prime Minister adds that saying  goodbye to those we love is never easy. He says in those difficult moments, as a family is left grappling with grief, there is consolation to be found in bidding their loved one a dignified farewell.

The people of Korovou had made the request to build a new crematorium to Bainimarama directly when he was there in 2017 opening new classrooms at Tailevu North College, as the previous facility was destroyed by Cyclone Winston.
