The Zodiac Basketball Club in Suva will be sending an Under 18 Girls and Boys Team to participate in the Under 18 Albury Country Basketball Tournament in New South Wales, Australia next month.

The touring side will comprise of 10 players per team.

Zodiac Basketball Club Tour Team Organizer, Alex Fong says this is an exciting moment for the Club.

Fong says they have been preparing since June and with their core players having been a part of the recent Pacific Games in Samoa and part of the Under 15 National team to the Under 15 Oceania Championships in PNG last December, they expect positive results.

The Zodiac Touring teams is a self-funded team through parent’s contributions that will cover traveling logistics while Basketball Victorian Country in Australia have agreed to cover accommodation, meals and travel costs while the team are in Australia.

Whirlpool Australia through Gokals Fiji have sponsored the teams uniform while other sponsors such as Kia Motors and Tappoos, GEM, Planit Pacific, Unitex Garments, and various other individuals have sponsored the teams training kit comprising of bags and water bottles, shoes, banners, etc.

Fong says the main purpose of this tour is to expose their players to a higher standard of basketball for their age group.
