Striders Women’s 7s rugby team thumped Rugby Academy Fiji Women’s team 26-7 at the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park this morning.

Striders last won the title in 2018 and lost the final last year against Marist Seahawks.

Marist Seahawks will play their first match at 12.14pm against Fiji Airways Nadi Blazers.

In other results from the Women’s competition this morning, Fiji Airports Nadi Aviators thrashed Sydney Savusavu 45-5, Fiji Airports Nadi Blazers defeated NFA Women 24-19 and Rugby Vault International defeated Flying Vixens 17-10.

Meanwhile, Tuva Youth has qualified to the semifinals of the Youth Competition where they will face Vueti Cakau at 2.29pm.

PSM Aflame Brothers has also qualified for the semifinals after beating Sigatoka River Safari Henibua 12-0 and they will meet the  Dominion Brothers who defeated Saunivalu Nadi 17-0.

In the youth quarterfinal results, Tuva Youth defeated Vunavutu Blues 17-5 in the first quarterfinal and Vueti Cakau thumped Ravuka Sharks 15-7.

The Men's competition will begin tomorrow and ends on Saturday.

The Coral Coast 7s is currently underway at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
