The Crusaders and NSW Waratahs will play for more than just first-round points when they kick off their Super Rugby campaign tonight as both teams have pledged their support to Rural Aid’s Disaster Recovery Fund, and will donate $1000 for every try scored by their team in the match.
Captaining the Crusaders for the first time in 2020, Scott Barrett will also join his Waratahs counterpart Rob Simmons in donating his playing jersey from the match.
Both jerseys will be signed by the players and auctioned off.
Barrett says this is a fantastic initiative that will see the two sides come together to support emergency relief across the Tasman.
The Crusaders will take on the Waratahs at 6.05pm today.
The Sunwolves will play the Rebels at 3.45pm and tomorrow the Stormers will host the Hurricanes at 1.05am and the Jaguares will face the Lions at 11am.
In matches last night, the Chiefs beat the Blues 37-29, the Brumbies beat the Reds 27-24 while the Sharks beat the Bulls 23-15.
