Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar has told the heads of schools of Bua and Macuata that they are looking after a large number of the Fijian population and when it comes to education - students’ dreams, hopes and aspirations starts with them.
Akbar told school heads that they are entrusted with the young minds of our nation and how they mould those young minds rests upon their shoulders.
Akbar says last year, there were a total of 19,109 students enrolled for Early Childhood Education, 148,048 in Primary Schools, 66,177 in Secondary Schools, 3,207 in Vocational Studies and 38,659 Fijians enrolled in tertiary institutions.
There are a total of 13,727 teachers currently employed by the Ministry of Education.
