A 35-year old farmer of Namuka, Bau in Tailevu has been remanded in custody by the Nausori Magistrates Court for allegedly killing a 21-year old man on Tuesday.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Mukesh Rao asked the court for Setareki Ratatagia’s case to be transferred to the High Court as Ratatagia is charged with an indictable offence.
The matter has been transferred to Suva High Court which will be called next Thursday.
Ratatagia allegedly assaulted the man when he was waiting for a boat at the village seawall.
He was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
