The atmosphere in Hamilton has reached an all time high with people turning out in numbers to watch the first semifinal of the 2009 Super 14 season where the Chiefs will host the Hurricanes.
We will now join Radio New Zealand Senior Sports Editor, Elma Ma'ua on the atmosphere in Hamilton.
The side which has only lost two matches on home soil during the past two Super 14 seasons, are favourites to win, as the two teams have met four times in Hamilton with the Chiefs winning three of these encounters.
Meanwhile, reserve halfback David Bason, first choice halfback Brendon Leonard, All Black Richard Kahui and prop Ben May are all out with injury.
The Chiefs take on the Hurricanes at 7:35pm tonight while the defending 2008 Super 14 Champions, the Crusaders meet the Bulls in Pretoria at 1am on Sunday.
