All housing work in Tacirua East and in Wainibuku, that is supposed to house close to 2,000 families by mid next year, has been put on hold as talks continue with regards to the $170 million loan from the EXIM Bank of China.
Housing Authority Chief Executive Alipate Naiorosui said under their 5 year development plan for the Authority, construction work should start by this month, however this is on hold.
Naiorosui added that now they are looking at other options to ensure that construction work starts.
Under the two planned developments, a total of 2,000 families will be housed in Wainibuku and Tacirua East, which will see 250 lots in Wainibuku and 184 acres of land in Tacirua East constructed.
