This is the plea from 24 year old Leah Wickham to world leaders at the 15th UN World Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen, Denmark early this morning.
Wickham, who is a Greenpeace Activist, addressed the Summit early this morning pleading with leaders to understand that negative climate impacts are causing South Pacific Islands to drown and if no step is taken now, the harder the fight is for many to survive.
The summit is designed to try and find a new binding agreement between all member states to reduce carbon emissions and replace the Kyoto protocol on Climate Change, which ensures that industrialized nations to make firm commitments to reduce emissions.
The Fiji contingent headed by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama consists of over 10 Government officials as well as some youth activists. The Climate Change Conference ends on December 18th.
