The Department of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs is concerned on claims made by traders that goods once sold cannot be refunded.
In a statement the Department said they have been working with Consumer Council on the claims of traders on ANo Refund@ and Agoods once sold cannot be returned@ further adding that these are in breach of the fair-trading Decree and traders could end up paying fines up to $25,000 when prosecuted.
The department has urged traders not to make such claims as consumers are entitled to replacement or refund on products that are faulty.
Consumers have also been asked to be careful while buying a product.
