The Chairman of the Motibhai group of companies has brushed aside statements that acquiring the Fiji Times is a risky decision.
News Limited yesterday announced that it had reached an agreement to sell Pacific Publications Fiji Limited, the parent company of the publisher of the Fiji Times to the Motibhai Group of Companies for an undisclosed sum.
Speaking to Radio Australia Chairman and Chief Executive Mahendra Patel said he sees no reason as to why they should face any problems working with the current Government.
Patel said there are number of opportunities that will arise from the change in ownership.
Meanwhile Mahendra Patel said this purchase expresses their confidence in the future of Fiji.
