Operators of one of Fiji's leading resorts in the country, the Outrigger on the Lagoon believe that all hotels and resorts around the country need to increase their rates and other charges to reflect the unique product Fiji has to offer.
Hotel and resort operators along the Coral coast along with other tourism stakeholders met at the Outrigger last night to celebrate last year’s achievements and map out plans for 2011.
Speaking to Fijivillage, General Manager of Outrigger Peter Hopgood revealed that they will increase their rates by over 10 percent from April and said other operators should also increase their rates.
Hopgood also revealed that since June last year, Outigger has been experiencing on average 75 percent occupancy levels while at the moment the occupancy at the resort stands at 100 percent.
