Despite technologies and the latest trends, a fairly large proportion of the country's population do not have access to formal banking system.

Those were the words of the Chairman of National Financial Inclusion Taskforce, Robin Yarrow at a press conference this afternoon following a Reserve Bank of Fiji and Pacific Financial Inclusion Program workshop.

Yarrow said approximately 150,000 people do not have a bank account at all.

The workshop was held to deliberate and discuss on how stakeholders can reach 150,000 of the unbanked under the theme A Extending Financial Services Outreach to the Next Level.
