Waiqanake has caused the major upset in the Fiji Bitter 7s after defeating the Samoan Barbarians side in their second pool game this afternoon.
Samoa with the likes of Uale Mai and Lolo Lui could not last the full fourteen minutes of the game as Waiqanake proved too strong in defence.
The loss meant that the Samoan side is likely to be in the Bowl competition as only the main pool leaders will make it to the Cup play-offs.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Barbarians had two good wins beating Nabukavesi 26-0 and in the second pool game they beat Senibua 22-5.
Coach Iliesa Taivula said they are trying out players in different positions to get a winning combination after this weekend.
Looking at some of the games played so far:
Fiji Barbarians beat Senibua 22-5, Ratu Filise 1 beat Nabukavesi 12-7, Samoa Babarians lost 12-17 to Waiqanake, Red Rock 1 thrashed Waiqa 15-0 while NZ Marist had a 17-5 win over Young Boys while the defending Marist Champions, Wardens had a 24-10 win over Nasilikoso.
