A fine of up to $50 can be imposed on people having unlicensed dogs six months old and above.

SPCA Animal Welfare Officer Lo Tomanitoakula is urging dog owners to register their dogs to avoid being fined.

She said that any dog whether wearing a collar or not outside their compound between 7pm and 5am, is deemed as a stray dog and could be at risk of being put down.

She added that with the rise in the number of stray animals, people should consider de-sexing their pets regardless of whether they are male or female.
