Women who depend on social welfare allowances will soon be given training at a sewing machine center set up at Fiji Women's Federation building in Suva.
The Minister for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation Dr Jiko Luveni said that 20 industrial sewing machines are being donated by the Zhejiang Gemsy Import and Export Company from People's Republic of China.
Dr Luveni said this will provide the training opportunity for single women to help them be absorbed into the tourism and garment sector.
Dr Luveni leaves tomorrow for China to officially receive these industrial sewing machines.
