Various retailers/wholesalers and local food processors have been asked to review and rectify alleged misleading labels.

Ministry of Health's Food Unit has questioned the motives and attitude of food processors, wholesalers and retails on inappropriate food labeling.

Spokesperson Peni Namotu said in the last two weeks many retailers were called.

According to Namotu the Food Unit has being instructed to renew the labeling criteria under the Food Safety Regulations 2009 as a matter of urgency to regularize such unethical business practices.
