Fiji’s national airline is here to stay and will continue to achieve its target to reduce costs and increase revenue.
Air Pacific’s Managing Director and CEO, Dave Pflieger said the past 12 months or so has been challenging but they have managed to reduce their losses significantly.
Pflieger said costs had to be cut and he started off with cutting costs incurred in a number of areas at the senior management level.
But he said the cost cutting exercise also focused on areas where people just did not think much when they spent company funds.
Air Pacific reported an operating loss of $3.6 million for the financial year ending March 2011 compared to an operating loss of $91.8 million for the previous year.
