To avoid exploitation of workers in the country, proper authorisation will be needed for any person wanting to operate an employment agency dealing with enlistment or recruitment.
Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Filipe Bole said that while Government's employment policy fully supports the participation of the private sector for overseas employment for Fijians, due diligence and care must be exercised in complying with all the provisions of Fiji's labour laws.
He added that they appeal to those intending to operate overseas recruitment agencies to comply with all requirements of labour legislations to ensure that they discharge their social responsibilities to Fijians in the spirit of good faith with good governance.
