The largest Hindu organization in the country, Shree Sanatan Dharam Prathinidhi Sabha of Fiji said it is telling its members to reach home soon after any religious event is over.
General Secretary Vijendra Prakash said the growing cases of sexual assaults on children and police raising concerns about negligence is a sad issue for the society and the Sabha is encouraging parents to participate in religious activities with their children.
He said the Sabha is asking all its members to be home as early as possible to spend quality time with their family members.
Prakash said there is a need for parents to talk to their children a lot about the issues affecting the society.
He said the Sabha is also giving the youths an opportunity to talk during prayer sessions on such issues.
Prakash said the Sabha is working with the other stakeholders to see that there is a decrease in such issues.
