A few areas in Ba experienced localized flooding this morning following heavy rain from last night.
Special Administrator Ba Town Council, Arun Prasad confirmed that Moto bridge was under around 2 feet of flood waters this morning while the market area in town had around 1 foot of flood waters.
Prasad said the rain has eased now and the flood waters are receding.
He added that some of the schools in the area have been closed following low attendance due to the heavy rain.
Heavy rain is expected to continue over the next few days.
The Nadi Weather Office said the trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the group and has not cleared off yet.
Continuous heavy rain may lead to localized flooding in low lying areas.
