Hosts of the FIFA World Cup, Brazil has beaten Colombia 2-1 in a thrilling quarterfinal match a while ago.
Thiago Silva scored for Brazil just in the 7th minute of the match while David Luiz got the second goal through a superb free kick in the 69th minute.
James Rodriguez got one back for Colombia though a penalty kick in the 80th minute but it was not enough as the hosts, Brazil held on and has qualified for the semifinals.
But a big setback for Brazil as their star player, Neymar Junior was stretched off the field late in the second half.
Brazil will play Germany in the semis on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Germany has become the first nation to reach four consecutive FIFA World Cup semifinals as Mats Hummels’ early header gave them a 1-nil win over France in the quarterfinals this morning.
The three‑time champions were comfortable victors over a disappointing France.
