The Medical Services Pacific today re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fiji Police Force to provide specialized services to victims of sexual assault.
The Executive Director of the Medical Services Pacific, Jennifer Poole said part of their work involves making the victims understand the tests that they have to go through, counseling and also giving some legal advise to victims of sexual assault.
Poole said they have seen over 148 victims of sexual assault so far and 50% of these victims have achieved success in prosecution.
She said Medical Services Pacific will soon extend it’s clinical services to the Western division.
