A 30-year-old man who raped his 17-year-old step daughter has been sentenced to 12 years and 6 months imprisonment by High Court Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge.

The man was convicted for one count of rape and one count of indecent assault.

The man raped his step daughter on the 3rd of October, 2012 in a farm house in Ba.

The man indecently assaulted the girl on the 9th of October in Rakiraki.

Justice Aluthge has set the non-parole period of nine years.
