Former Highlanders flanker John Hardie is in a battle to play for adopted country Scotland in this season's Six Nations competition.
Hardie who emigrated to Scotland ahead of last year’s Rugby World Cup, winning a place in the Scottish squad, injured his ankle in Scotland’s November game against Australia.
He has now made 13 Test appearances for the side.
He needed surgery to repair the ankle ligament he damaged and he has set his sights on playing for Edinburgh ahead of the Six Nations opener against Ireland on February 4.
Hardie said he got out of his moon boot two days ago and was making good progress and he adds that hopefully he will be back in a month or even six weeks.
