Melbourne Storm flyer Suliasi Vunivalu will continue his remarkable rise with Test debut for the Vodafone Fiji Bati against Tonga this Saturday.
Vunivalu says his dream was to represent Fiji one day after he turned down the New Zealand Warriors coach offer to play for the Kiwis instead of Fiji.
Before he arrived at the Storm in 2014, Vunivalu did not know how to play the ball.
It sounds like one of those stories that cannot possibly be true.
The 21-year-old did not just take the chance when he made his unexpected debut last April, he made the impossible look easy and has scored 31 tries in 29 games since.
Inspired by the 2008 World Cup squad, who made it to the semifinals, Vunivalu says making his Test debut has been a goal for some time.
It is no surprise that Australia have come knocking for his talent but he says that he has always had the goal that one day he will play for his country.
The Vodafone Fiji Bati will take on Tonga at 7.30pm Saturday as part of the Pacific triple header in Australia.
