Trade relations between Fiji and Hong Kong is expected to improve in the coming years.
This is after a meeting between the Permanent Secretary for Industry, Trade and Tourism Shaheen Ali and the members of Fiji‑HK Chamber of Commerce.
Shaheen Ali says there are plans to introduce Fijian made products in Hong Kong during the Sevens tournament.
During the discussions, the members of the Chamber of Commerce had outlined a few potential projects for Fiji alongside scholarships for Fijian students to study in Hong Kong.
The Permanent Secretary during this 5-day trip also met with Chinese businessmen who have shown interest in investing in Fiji.
This included “Jiaozi in the spotlight” which is a restaurant chain in China and is looking to invest in Fiji by 2019.
