The Northern Division recorded a total of 116 typhoid cases and 387 Leptospirosis cases last year.
The Ministry of Health says mass typhoid vaccination were provided to Natua villagers and the nearby villages as part of an outreach Awareness program on preventative measures for Communicable Diseases, Hand hygiene and sanitation.
It says they are also identifying the suspected probable cases as per case definition to provide prompt treatment to avoid any complications.
The Ministry says that it continues to closely monitor the dengue and typhoid cases and is committed on providing all the necessary treatment and support required.
The Northern Division recorded a total of 873 dengue cases from the period of 1st January to 31st December 2017.
