While most kids are enjoying their school holidays, a woman from Kiribati who's now living in Fiji is raising funds for an ambitious plan to set up an English language school for her community here in Fiji.

Speaking to Pacific Beat, Tauraoi Kirite says there's a growing community of people from Kiribati in Fiji, particularly in Lautoka, who've moved there after their home island became affected by climate change.

Kirite says that she felt that she had to do this for her community.

She says this English language school will only be for Kiribati students but for other students of different races as well.
