A 38-year-old man who is alleged to have assaulted his de-facto partner over a picture on the wallpaper of her phone has been remanded in custody.
It is alleged that man punched and poked a cigarette bud on his 37-year-old de-facto partner’s neck over a picture of a man on the wallpaper of her phone.
The incident happened in Samabula.
Magistrate Liyanage Wickramasekara asked the woman if she had been assaulted before and said that she has been assaulted in front of her child before.
The case has been adjourned to the 7th of next month.
