Thousands of people living in certain areas within the Suva to Nausori corridor are currently facing water disruptions due to an electrical fault at the Waila Water Treatment Plant.
The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that repair works have been completed.
However, the Authority adds that the disruption in supply is due to low water levels in clear water reservoirs as a result of the reduction in water production during the repair works.
Water Authority says that areas affected include Raralevu, Wainibuku, Nasinu, Toorak, Flagstaff, Tovata, Nagatugatu, Doka-naisuva, and Colo-i-Suva adding that water carting trucks are also on standby to cart water to the affected areas.
The Authority has highlighted that water supply is expected to be gradually restored from tonight to Sunday morning.
