High Court Judge Justice Vinsent Perera will deliver judgement in the trial of a 65‑year‑old man charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault today.

The man is alleged to have raped and sexually assaulted his 7-year-old granddaughter between 2012 and 2014 in Nasinu.

The three assessors in the trial had returned with a majority guilty opinion yesterday afternoon.

He has been remanded in custody.
