The alleged victim in the trial of the 33-year-old taxi driver charged with one count of abduction and three counts of rape, says that she was threatened and abducted by the taxi driver in January 2014.
It is alleged that Umendra Singh had abducted the 14-year-old girl from Nasinu and took her to Nadi, Lautoka and Rakiraki and raped her on three separate days.
The alleged incidents took place on the 11th, 12th and 13th of January 2014.
The victim who is 18 years old now testified that she had gone to her pastor’s house in Narere and was returning home at about 11pm with her friend when a taxi had stopped before them.
She says the accused had asked them where they were going and she had said they were going to Narere.
She says the accused had said that would drop them both but she had replied that they would walk.
The victim then said that the accused came out of the taxi and grabbed her from behind and held a knife to her throat.
She says she was nervous and had shouted but nobody had come to help them.
