A man who allegedly raped a 12‑year‑old student on Thursday afternoon and then tried to run her over before attempting to rape another girl in the Nausori area is still being investigated by Police.
No charges have been laid in this case.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
The suspect had offered the 12‑year‑old girl a ride and took her to Lakena where he allegedly raped her.
The girl managed to fight off her attacker and freed herself and it is alleged the suspect then tried to run the victim over with his car.
The suspect also allegedly tried to lure another girl in a similar way however she managed to fight off the suspect where Police were then able to get a clear description of the vehicle.
The suspect was arrested near Naduruloulou on Thursday night.
