Concerns have been raised by parents of Delainamasi Government School as there was no teacher for a Year 3 class from day one of school this year.

The school has confirmed this as they are still waiting for a assigned teacher from the Ministry of Education.

The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association Vice President Moiz Altaf says that they are very concerned to see their children go to school, and not do anything throughout the day because there is no teacher.

Altaf says they now have brought in a retired teacher to teach the students of the Year 3 class that does not have a teacher.

He says that they have already spoken to the Ministry and they have confirmed that they are trying to get a relieving teacher for the Eastern Division.

We are still trying to get confirmation from the Ministry of Education on when the school will have a teacher for the Year 3 class.

Questions have been sent to Deputy Secretary for Education Timoci Bure.
